What is Little Explorers?

Little Explorers will start in SEPTEMBER 2026! Looking Forward to seeing you for our first FALL SEASON!

1. What Is Little Explorers?

Little Explorers class is nature play experiential learning for preschoolers. It is a parent participation class where parents and explorers play, learn and grow together. Nature is a powerful tool for connection, both with your little one and with the animals and plants we see everyday.

2. What age group is appropriate?

Little Explorers is for ages 1-5. Older or younger siblings are welcome to join.

3. What is this class about?

Using stories, open ended play activities, songs, messy play and nature we will explore important skills like empathy, persistence, and creativity. This is not just crafts in the woods, it's real learning.

4. How is the class structured?

We will start with a welcome song - the same every week so the explorers get to know the special ritual of welcoming everyone. We read a story, and introduce our theme, set up and explore with open-ended play, call back to circle for a snack and parent learning time, and finish with a goodbye song. Class is 1 hour long.

5. What happens if I miss a class?

There will be a makeup class held at the end of the season for anyone who wants to make up the class.

6. What is the cost?

Little Explorers is $200/student and runs for 8 weeks on Tuesdays at 12 pm.

7. Where is this class located?

We will be meeting at Havenroot - at the Backyard Nature Academy's Nature Center. Once you turn into Havenroot's property, keep to the right at the fork after the big iron gate. Follow the road all the way to the end to find our white tent nature center. Check in for class there.
