Wild Wednesdays FAQ
Who is this program geared towards? - Ages 5-12, but all ages are welcome and can be included.

Where is this located? - Havenroot is at 24487 Bolton Hill Rd in Veneta. Once on site, follow the signs to the Nature Center to check in and meet with the Naturalist.

Is the program drop off or family focused? - Program itself is drop off if your child is comfortable, but parents are welcome to stay and attend. Exploring Havenroot has to be done with a parent, so if you're coming early or staying later than the 10-11:30 program, please explore with your child.

What's the charge? - It's 10$ per student per class (kids under 4 are free for this one) and that just covers supplies and the instructors time. You can purchase a punch card on site for 11 classes at $100 to save if you're interested in coming consistently
Does the program reoccur? - Program topics are different each week, all year long, and the goal is to create a community of students that come back week after week to spend time in the forest and learn with each other. Participants are encouraged to stick around and explore, have some lunch, and connect after the program.

How does this program fit into my curriculum? - Backyard Nature Academy links their programming to science standards for elementary students in Oregon. The program should satisfy the requirement for a science lesson within most homeschooling curriculum, and it definitely will with the state. Classes are created by Master Naturalist Michelle Shula, who has over 20 years teaching and creating curriculum.

What does purchasing a pass on site get me? - The pass is good for one class, any wednesday you choose. They don't expire. Each student will need their own pass, you can also purchase a pass at the site once you arrive, as well as the punch card if you want to continue to attend and save a little money.
